Brenda’s classes focus on the power of the arts to transform lives. Art education creates benefits that manifest themselves far beyond competency in the arts, helping people lead more productive and engaged lives.

PAINTING
Brenda’s SMAC Intermediate-Advanced Painting classes offered small groups of students beneficial critiques, focused individual help, exposure to the Art Center’s gallery and a guided tour through a major art exhibiiton. The eight-week classes were based on the elements and structure of standard college programs and were tailored to those who were interested in challenging and advancing their skills in an inviting and nurturing environment.
YOUTH

Students were provided with opportunities that helped build self-esteem through artmaking experiences and friendship. While exploring a variety of creative experiences, students worked on individual and collaborative projects in disciplines such as painting, drawing, printmaking and STEAM classes where science met art. Students were invited to participate in critiques, and learn how to present and discuss their work. Students learned through experience to become more comfortable expressing themselves artistically and within a group setting. Teen classes were particularly beneficial for college bound art majors.
